Ian Howell DipFA MIFS

Director & Independent Financial Planner

Ian Howell has been in the financial services profession since 1989 and has been providing independent financial advice since 1998. Ian is Level 4 Diploma Qualified and has a real passion for the investment side of the business. For 15 years, Ian presented the “Business News” section during the breakfast show on BBC Radio Norfolk. He has submitted editorial comment to the Financial Times, The Mail on Sunday and other publications regarding aspects of financial advice during his career as a financial adviser. Outside of work, Ian is a season ticket holder at Norwich City and he enjoys travel, good food and spending time with friends and family.

James Harrison DipPFS

Director & Independent Financial Planner

James has been a practicing financial adviser since 1998, becoming independent in 2003, with a client portfolio comprising both personal and corporate clients. With over two decades of experience as an adviser James is well placed to advise his clients in all aspects of financial advice. His straightforward manner is highly appreciated by his clients as is his ability to break down the complex side of financial services into understandable plain English. James prides himself on his personal service and is passionate about ensuring client advice is of the highest quality and truly independent. Away from the office James enjoys various sports and has a love of travelling and motorcycles, having toured most of Europe on various motorcycles over the years with the further afield destinations being visited using the slightly more leisurely option of an aeroplane.

Maurice Pearce MLIBF AdvDipFA

Chartered Financial Planner

Mo started his career in financial services in 1987 working for Norwich Union, winding up final salary schemes. He has performed various roles over the years including specialist project work and training. His considerable experience has included working as broker representative as well as an independent financial adviser. More recently, Mo looks after large investment portfolios and businesses with complex financial planning needs. Mo demonstrates his expertise to his clients and he has also lectured for the Personal Finance Society. Outside normal office hours, you can find Mo combining business with pleasure as he enjoys attending various business functions and networking groups. Aside from this, he has a busy family life and enjoys reading, playing football, competition ten pin bowling and holidays.

Jack Guyton DipFA

Independent Financial Planner

Jack started his career in financial services at Norwich & Peterborough as a customer advisor/consultant for 2 years before moving into the area of independent financial advice for the last 4 years. Having attained his Level 4 Diploma in financial services Jack has progressed into advising through the administration/management sections of the business, which in turn has provided Jack with in depth knowledge around the different parts of the business and stages of the entire advice process. Outside of the office, aside from spending time with his family and friends, Jack enjoys playing football and has represented Norfolk at U18’s level. He currently plays and is captain for Fakenham Town F.C who compete in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

Sean Dyer DipPFS

Senior Paraplanner

After graduating from the University of Plymouth with a first class degree in Mathematics, Sean has found a path in the financial services industry where he has been enjoying his career for the past five years. In this time, Sean has developed into an experienced paraplanner and has attained his Level 4 diploma, with further ambitions to achieving chartered status. Sean takes great pride in supporting advisors to ensure that they offer the best possible solution to meet their client’s needs and objectives. In his spare time Sean enjoys keeping active, going to the gym and spending time with friends and family.

Cavan Power

Senior Financial Services Administrator/Trainee Paraplanner

Following graduation from University of Surrey, Cavan started his financial services career in 2019 when he interned at an Asset Management company in London. From there, Cavan decided to pursue a career in financial planning starting his career with a London based IFA business before returning to his native Norfolk to join Acorn with the intention of developing his experience and pursuing a path into Paraplanning. In his spare time Cavan has a passion for fragrances which keeps him rather occupied exploring new scents. When he isn’t nose deep in a new fragrance, Cavan enjoys going on long walks and spending time with his friends in various parts of the country.

Lisa James

Senior Financial Services Administrator

After leaving full time education, Lisa started in the profession back in 2005 initially working at Aviva where she dealt with all aspects of group pension administration. Lisa then joined a local firm of independent financial advisers and has been working in an administration role within the financial services profession ever since. Lisa has gained a thorough understanding of a wide range of financial products throughout her career. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys the gym and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys spending quality time with her dog Derek.

David Huggins

Senior Financial Services Administrator

David has worked in the financial services sector for over 20 years. David started his career at Barclays before joining a local independent financial advisory firm in 2007 where he provided administrative support to their clients and since joining the AWMG team he has continued to do the same.  David prides himself on providing first class support for advisors and clients and is meticulous in his approach.  Outside of work, David is a huge Norwich City fan, supporting them home and away as much as possible. David also enjoys spending time with his family and friends either at the cinema, theatre, eating out or walking with his dog Jackson.
